Nigeria exited the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) PAMOJA 2024 with a confidence-boosting 2–0 victory over Congo in Dar es Salaam, but the result was insufficient to keep their tournament hopes alive, as Sudan and Senegal advanced from Group D.

Goals from Anas Yusuf and Sikiru Alimi handed the Super Eagles a morale-lifting win, restoring some pride after consecutive defeats had already confirmed their early exit.

Congo, needing a victory to stay in contention, were left disappointed as the loss consigned them to the bottom of the group.

In the other Group D clash played simultaneously in Kampala, Sudan and Senegal played out a goalless draw, a result that saw both teams advance to the quarter-finals with five points apiece.

Sudan finished top of the group on goal difference, while Nigeria’s win left them on three points—just one short of qualification.
